The high was 25 with a low of 1. It's currently 2 degrees with 30 inches of snow on the ground and partly cloudy skies. Snow and ice have closed the roads to the trail heads. There will be hard hiking today. I'll be baking biscuits today. If the sun comes out strong I'll get out the snowshoes and take a tour of the mountain top.
Ice Under The Porch,2-13-10
Who ever thought the underside of a porch would be beautiful? As the sun melted snow piled on top of the porch the water dripped through the cracks and froze leaving a beautiful winter scene.

The gray morning light and the snow seem to compliment each other. It sometimes seems like a shame to break the snow with my footprints and scar a perfect scene. I hope you can stay warm and safe today.
