February started with a beautiful and clear day on Mt. LeConte. It was 26 this morning with a high of 29 and a low of 7 degrees. There is still 8 inches of snow on the ground. There may be a little snow tonight and a few more inches this weekend. I got out for some hiking yesterday and enjoyed some beautiful sights to share with you.

It never ceases to amaze me how the snow brings out the beauty in the things I see everyday and often walk right by.

I often hike the Alum Cave Bluff Trail for exercise or as the quickest way to town but when the snow and ice are on the trail like this I hike for the sights.

As I leave my shadow in January and Hike into February I can only hope that the new month will bring as much wonder and beauty as the last on Mt. LeConte.
