Life On LeConte

Picture
The Winter Storm didn't drop as much snow accumulation as expected.  There's 8 inches of snow on the ground.  There is, however, a thick coat of ice covering everything.  The High temperature was 34 with a low of 22.  It's currently 28.  It's sleeting outside right now.  We have had high winds with gusts estimated over 50 mph.  The wind may have taken some of our snow away.  The forecast calls for snow off and on all day.  Highway 441 and Cherokee Orchard Road are closed.  It doesn't sound like the Park Service will get the roads to the trail head open any time soon.  If you get out today be careful and stay warm and dry.

Doug - we barely got a dusting in the other end of Sevier County - Seymour. Mostly slush.
