How's The Weather Up There?

This is the closest weather forecast that I can find to the actual weather on Mt. LeConte.  A common mistake hikers make is to look at the Gatlinburg forecast and dress accordingly.  It is generally 20 degrees colder on Mt. LeConte and often raining or snowing!  This forecast isn't exact but it's the closest I can find.  Mt.     The crew at the Lodge used to joke,"Here comes Ed, hide or you'll have your picture on the Internet!"  Ed Wright is a legend around Mt. LeConte.  He was a wealth of information, an avid hiker, had a great love of the Smokies and was an all around nice guy.  If you didn't have the privilege to know Ed you probably know someone who did.  Ed went on the long hike home this last November and is greatly missed.  He developed this website to share his love of the Smokies.  The site is still run by his family and friends.  It is a wealth of information and a lot of fun to experience.  Have a look at www.MtLeConte.com
